Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh recently pressed the connectivity button on the National Single Window (NSW) with three ministries, namely the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, bringing the number of NSW-connected ministries to six. Previously, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industry and Trade also joined the NSW. The NSW is proven to bring many advantages for businesses.

Firstly, businesses only need to apply to documents in one point but receive results from many different State agencies. Hence, they can save a lot of time doing paperwork. In 2013, up to 1.3 million export and import records were placed under specialised management. With the NSW, businesses will not have to spend fees for this type of papers.

Secondly, the NSW is interconnected with the ASEAN Single Window (ASW), electronic C/Os will be accepted and directly forwarded to customs authorities in other countries. Hence, businesses will also benefit from C/O works.

Thirdly, businesses receive replies quickly (for green-certified channel, the VNACCS customs system is expected to produce results in just one second); hence, they can shorten the time for releasing goods, reduce warehousing and demurrage costs and thus enhance business efficiency.

Fourthly, law-abiding businesses will enjoy many priorities and incentives from programmes of State management agencies.

As of June 8, 2015, as many as 1,567 companies declared 3,353 procedures at the NSW portal, including 1,892 entries, 1499 exits and 12 transits. Regarding procedures with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 1,145 documents with connection to C/O form D are settled at the NSW portal. 182 documents on motorised vehicle quality inspection were carried out the NSW.
