With its glorious tradition built by nearly 30 years of construction and development, Song Gianh Corporation has produced a variety of fertilisers to meet agricultural production demands in the country. The corporation always improves personnel quality, upgrades equipment, production lines and technologies to rationalise fertiliser production processes to catch up with the cause of agricultural development and the demand of farmers.
Glorious history
In 1990, Prof Pham Van Huu, a Vietnamese-originated scientist from Canada, returned to Vietnam with micro-organic fertiliser processing technology and he wanted to transfer it to domestic fertiliser producers to serve farmers on a large scale. With the recommendation of Quang Binh province's leaders, Song Gianh Corporation was chosen as one of the two units to pilot the venture. After more than a year of working hard with the new technology, in 1991, the first batch of micro-organic fertilisers was rolled out. And, the Song Gianh microbiological phosphate plant was set up, becoming first unit in Vietnam to successfully apply biotechnology to manufacture micro-organic fertiliser for agricultural production. Soon after receiving and applying biotechnology transferred to fertiliser production, Song Gianh Corporation has mastered the technology, applied and protected its production processes to gradually diversify its product categories. This laid the foundation for the formation of Song Gianh Fertiliser Company in 1996. Since then, Song Gianh-branded fertilisers have affirmed their name on the market. In December 2000, the corporation was honoured the title "Labour hero in the renovation period" by the Party and the State. In addition to key fertiliser manufacturing, Song Gianh Corporation also engaged in packaging, construction and services fields. Therefore, on February 16, 2001, the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee issued the Decision No. 227/QD-UB to rename the company from Song Gianh Fertiliser Company to Song Gianh Company administered by the Provincial People's Committee. In 2009, the company went public and was renamed to Song Gianh Joint Stock Company. Given its growth and development, in 2011 Song Gianh Joint Stock Company was officially converted to the corporation model and its name was changed to Song Gianh Corporation. To boost its sales nationwide, the corporation has opened many branches and affiliates from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands from 1991 to 2015. This is one of two key projects of Song Gianh Corporation from 2014 to 2016. The other one is Song Gianh fertiliser plant in Binh Duong province. The new facilities will boost the corporation's sales in the country, particularly the northern region.
Currently, with the technical and technological assistances from domestic and international scientists, the corporation has manufactured and circulated a variety of fertiliser product lines on the market for different soil properties and crops.
