Gov't Stops Exports of Crude Minerals

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has just assigned the ministries of Industry, Trade, Natural Resources, and Finance and relevant bodies to issue regulations on temporarily stopping exports of some crude minerals, according to the Government Office on February 15, 2005.

Crude mineral export contracts signed before January 13 will be considered from now to March 30, 2005 in order to minimise losses for enterprises.

The Prime Minister recently criticised the People’s Committees of the three provinces of Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho and Bac Giang for mass exploitation of such minerals, and asked chairmen of these committees to immediately revoke mineral exploitation permissions in their localities.
