The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Kyushu CCI (Kyushu Chambers of Commerce and Industry) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Hanoi, on September 14.

At the signing ceremony, Mr Yoshitaro Iwasaki, Vice President of Kyushu CCI, said that Japanese enterprises needed Vietnamese IT engineers.

"Japan now lacks IT human resources. Vietnamese engineers can work in Japan or we can sign bilateral agreements so that they can work there," said Yoshitaro Iwasaki.

In response, VCCI President Vu Tien Loc said: "Vietnamese engineers are fully capable of meeting the needs of foreign businesses, especially Japanese enterprises. Vietnamese IT enterprises are always willing to cooperate with Japan. Vietnamese engineers can work in Japan or in Vietnam. We can work through the Internet in the era 4.0".

In the framework of the signing ceremony, Mr Maysayosi Sakai, a CEO of a business in the Kyushu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “Through this cooperation, member enterprises of eight provinces Kyushu will have an easier economic connection with Vietnam.”

Besides, Mr Maysayosi Sakai also pointed out that Japanese enterprises also wanted to cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in agriculture. Japanese businesses of Hiroshima province also had a meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, General Director of Green Living Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. (a member of T & T Group) appreciated the professionalism of Japanese companies and expressed the wish to have a close cooperation with Japan.

"We are looking for opportunities with Japanese enterprises in agriculture import and export, specifically import of Japanese frozen fruits and vegetables and export of such Vietnamese agricultural products as rice, cashew nuts, and vegetables. We are willing to cooperate with Japanese enterprises from the first period," Ms Huyen said.

Japanese businesses hoped the cooperation agreement signed by VCCI and Kyushu CCI could help member enterprises of the eight provinces of Kyushu to have an easier connection with the Vietnam’s economy.

VCCI President Vu Tien Loc emphasised Vietnam always wanted to cooperate with Japan and hoped that more business delegations of Kyushu, Okinawa, and others would come to Vietnam to seek business opportunities.
