Vietnam's Exports to France Likely to Reach EUR1.1Bln this Year

Vietnam is expected to earn a total EUR1.1 billion from exports to France this year, up 20 per cent against last year, according to the Vietnam Trade Office in France.

Of the total export revenues, apparel products will be responsible for EUR165 million, household items EUR120-125 million, leather ware EUR60 million, coffee EUR33 million and seafood EUR22 million.

In 2004, Vietnam was the second largest coffee exporter to France, accounting for 5.7 per cent of the market.

Vietnam's export of seafood to France is forecast to increase by 20 per cent this year. However, Vietnamese seafood now makes up only 0.8 per cent of France's seafood market.

According to the trade office, Vietnamese seafood exporters have to meet all the food safety standards and boost their export promotion activities to raise their market share in France.
