Mercosur Week to Be Held in Vietnam
VCCI Secretary General Nguyen Quang Vinh said that Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Mercosur Chamber of Commerce have reached a consensus to organize Mercosur week in Vietnam successfully.
At the recent working session with VCCI, Mr. Piet Verdult, Chairman of Mercosur-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce of Argentina (MACC) said he has proposed to the Argentinean Embassy and some businesses to organize the Argentine week event in Vietnam, aiming to increase understanding and promote cultural, economic and trade exchanges between Mercosur and Vietnam.
"Through the week, we hope Vietnamese businesses will better understand the business environment in the Mercosur region and the potential and opportunities for developing cooperation between the two sides. VCCI stands willing to work closely with stakeholders to promote business in Latin America for the sake of the development of cooperative relations between the business communities of both sides,” said VCCI Secretary General Nguyen Quang Vinh.
Mercosur is a very important region in Latin America, with free trade agreements among Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Mercosur is currently the world's fifth largest economic entity and one of the leading producers of food, raw materials and energy. Vietnam always attaches importance to developing the relationship with Mercosur on the principle of integration, trust, and public-private cooperation. VCCI and MACC signed a cooperation agreement in 2016, pledging to create favorable conditions for the business community of both sides to develop economic cooperation.
