Special Workgroup for FDI Attraction Established

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recently signed Decision 850/QD-TTg on establishment of a workgroup responsible for promoting foreign investment. The workgroup is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

The workgroup is to advise the Prime Minister on mechanisms, policies, criteria and standards of competitive international investment cooperation and solutions to timely capture investment cooperation opportunities in the new context; prepare flexible, suitable approaches to giant groups that possess advanced technology, lead or operate value chains in order to mobilize and advance investment cooperation for mutual benefit.

In addition to promoting foreign investment cooperation, the workgroup will carry out investment promotions at home and abroad to attract high quality, large-scale investment projects of advanced technology and innovation, which are expected to facilitate Vietnamese enterprises to join value chains, improve human resource training, conduct research and development, advance digital economy and contribute to socioeconomic development of Vietnam.
