Honda Vietnam Unveils Plans to Make Economical Motorbikes

Honda Vietnam (HVN), the largest motorbike maker in the country, is planning to manufacture fuel-saving Future II motorbikes in Vietnam soon, according to a corporate source.

The new economical Future II 125cc can save up to 22 per cent of fuel compared with previous versions of Future motorbikes.

To economize fuel consumption, a novel carburetor will be installed on the new Future, Honda said.

Besides Future, Honda Vietnam also produces Super Dream, Wave and Spacy models.

The Japanese-invested company sold over 500,000 motorbikes in 2004.

Apart from improving products, Honda Vietnam is intensifying activities to bar local firms from copying its product styles and models. Copycat models are attributed to the popularity and superiority of Honda products.
