Vietnam continued to carry out solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, but still ensured customs inspection and supervision requirements in the third quarter of 2021, said the General Department of Customs.
Applying the automated customs supervision and management system, the customs sector reviewed and standardized the list of port codes and port names across the country; added functions to the manifest system that allows receiving and using records of means of transport on entry and exit at ports managed by the same customs authority.
In addition, the customs sector ensured stable operation and 24/7 online support for the automatic airway monitoring system at Noi Bai International Airport (three warehouses) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport (two warehouses); deployed software to declare information before imported goods arrive at the land border gate.
To clear difficulties and obstacles for businesses and avoid operating interruption of warehouses, yards, ports and locations during the COVID-19 pandemic, the General Department of Customs delivered Official Letter 4440/TCHQ-GSQL dated September 15, 2021 to instruct local customs bodies to implement measures to facilitate businesses to have more time to complete warehouses and destinations after the pandemic is over.
