Hanoitourist Negotiates on Race Track Gambling Project

The Hanoi Tourist Corporation (Hanoitourist) says it is negotiating with a UK partner about forming a joint venture for construction of a horse race project and an eco-tourist resort on 1,200ha of Dong Anh district, Hanoi.

 

The project will cost US$70-80 million and offer betting services for foreign tourists. Hanoitourist general director Pham Duc Hung says although the State has not yet allowed for betting services, attention should be given to offer such services and put them under strict control so as to catch foreign investors and to diversify tourism. Deputy chairman Nguyen The Quang at the Hanoi People’s Committee says Hanoi will carefully examine the project and consult the Government about it.
