Hanoi Welcomes More Than 8.6 Mln Tourists in First 6 Months

Hanoi received 8.61 million tourist arrivals in the first six months of 2022, nearly tripling on-year, said the Hanoi Tourism Department.

International tourists totaled 211,000 while domestic tourists were 8.4 million strong. Total tourist revenue reached about VND25.2 trillion, more than 3 times that of a year earlier.

The city also recognized three destinations: Hai Ba Trung Temple Special National Relic; World Cultural Heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel; and Hoang Long eco-resort. In total, the capital city has 24 recognized tourist zones and attractions.

In order to attract tourists, Hanoi has launched many tourism products like night tours at Hoa Lo Prison, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, upland market days at Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, outdoor activities at Bao Son Paradise Park, "Hanoi City Tour" on the double-decker bus, and “French architecture in Hanoi” walking tour.

In addition, Hanoi has organized many tourism promotion events and programs like the "Hello Hanoi, 2022” Tourism Program, Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival in 2022, VITM - Hanoi International Tourism Fair 2022, friendship journey in 2022, Son Tay Tourism Year and walking street opening at Son Tay Citadel, Love Festival in Hong Van commune (Thuong Tin district), and Hanoi Tourism Festival 2022.
