As domestic companies are finding it hard to woo international tourists, the 16th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2022), scheduled from September 8 to 10, 2022, is expected to make a breakthrough in promoting Vietnam's tourism to the world.
Themed "Growing Forward Together", ITE HCMC 2022 is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors, international buyers and exhibitors to exchange and explore disruptive development opportunities in the post-pandemic travel trade.
After two years of the pandemic, this is an opportunity to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists while travel and tourism businesses can make reconnection to create a better supply and demand. With the increased scale and quality of the fair, including information technology applications and online transactions, the event will certainly become a prominent highlight to foster inbound tourism and draw international tourists to Vietnam.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, said, given that tourism is being reopened in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, ITE HCMC 2022 is an important event to boost international tourism communication and marketing abroad. The expo is promised to bring an abundant source of international visitors from traditional markets and new markets to Vietnam in the near future. With innovative formats, the event is expected to be a major, prestigious annual international tourism rendezvous in Vietnam and the lower Mekong subregion.
Mr. Lee Jae Hoon, Chief Representative of the Representative Office of the Korea Tourism Organization, said, ITE HCMC is an opportunity for South Korean tourism companies and large Vietnamese peers to connect business. This event facilitates tourism reconnection between Vietnam and South Korea as well as the latter’s localities to introduce their unique destinations and culture to Vietnamese tourists. Within the framework of ITE HCMC 2022, the Korea Tourism Organization will host Korea Night on September 9, a meaningful activity to strengthen good bilateral relationships to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Korea - Vietnam diplomatic relations. This is expected to foster tourism and find new cooperation prospects in the coming period.
Derek Chou, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau - Ho Chi Minh City Office, affirmed that Vietnam is one of Taiwan's important tourism markets. Taiwan, expected to lead a delegation to Vietnam to foster this event, hopes that tourism exchange can be closer in the future and make more breakthroughs than now.
According to the Organizing Committee, domestic and international tourism businesses that register to participate in ITE HCMC 2022 will receive many attractive incentives. Specifically, domestic exhibitors are supported up to 50% of prices and international units are entitled to a 15% discount.
