Mr. To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, and Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, recently attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement on digital transformation between the Ministry of Public Security and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) in Hanoi. The event was also attended by leaders of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Agency and leaders of the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises.
Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and VNPT Group sign a cooperation agreement
The Ministry of Public Security is one of the key agencies in the course of national digital transformation with the working principle “Self-devoted to the nation, self-served to the people” and has achieved many important results. VNPT has also continued to affirm its position and role as a leading digital firm and digital infrastructure developer. The firm has been assigned several major projects that lay the foundation for national digital transformation.
In 2020-2021, with the drastic participation of the Ministry of Public Security and the active companion of VNPT Group, the national database on population and the national citizen identification database were officially put into operation, marking an important milestone and creating a premise for successfully building the e-government and moving toward the digital government.
Continuing that successful cooperation, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security continued to choose VNPT Group as a partner in developing digital infrastructure, with a focus placed on telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, shared infrastructure, transmission infrastructure and other infrastructures to ensure performance, modernity, safety and smoothness.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister To Lam emphasized that the supportive and cooperative relationship between the ministry and VNPT Group did not begin with this cooperation agreement, but has existed for a long time, driven by the two industries. That shows the unified perception of national digital transformation and drastic actions of the entire political system for the people.
He affirmed that the Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security believe that the cooperation agreement signed today will be a new development step in the two-sector relationship that has been further tightened and become more effective. We have worked together to successfully complete digital transformation and build the digital government and the digital society.
The signing ceremony demonstrates the great political determination of the ministry to use digital transformation to enhance its operational quality and performance and to reaffirm its leadership in digital transformation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group, affirmed that, with existing resources and technological capabilities, VNPT Group is committed to making every effort to work with the Ministry of Public Security to realize the goal and task of building digital infrastructure and carrying out digital transformation; more effectively implementing existing solutions; and willingly participating in new projects, creating new solutions, and helping build a digital government, digital citizens and digital society.
