The Vietnam Automated System for Seaport Customs Management (VASSCM) has been highly effective, with over 97% of cargo being automatically monitored at Noi Bai International Airport. The National Single Window (NSW) system and VASSCM for air cargo have continued to benefit the State administration of customs and cargo clearance as well.
According to the Border Gate Customs Office of Noi Bai International Airport, the NSW system has provided sufficient information about the declaration status of customs declarants, with 99.57% of electronic customs data for incoming and outgoing aircraft being received after more than two years of official deployment. The get-in rate was 97.10% of ALSC warehouses, 98.66% at ACSV warehouses and 97.55% at NCTS warehouses.
Moreover, the VASSCM system has produced a great effect, with more than 97% of cargo being automatically monitored at Noi Bai International Airport. By connecting and exchanging information with airport and warehouse operators, the VASSCM system not only helps customs authorities to promptly grasp the time, quantity and location of shipments embarked, stored and disembarked at airport terminals, but also brings practical benefits to the business community and relevant agencies by providing information about consignments that are overdue for customs clearance through the system to make appropriate handling decisions.
However, according to the Noi Bai Customs Office, these two systems still have certain limitations which were reported to superior agencies for handling by the office.
