HDBank Continues to Sponsor Futsal Tournament 2023

The Thai Son Nam Club of Ho Chi Minh City clinched the title of the 2023 HDBank National Futsal Championship, with Sahako and Thai Son Bac securing the second and third spots, respectively.

This was the 7th year HDBank sponsored the Futsal competition. Notably, the 2023 Futsal National Championship and the 2023 Futsal National Cup featured landmark changes in futsal history in Vietnam.

This season, with changes in the home-away format, created a lively atmosphere on the stands. Moreover, the presence of foreign players also helped bring fresh air and make the race to the championship more appealing and dramatic in the second leg.

The outstanding attraction of this year’s season was attributed to changes in tournament rules. For the first time, each club was allowed to register one foreign player and one foreign player of Vietnamese origin, while the round-robin format (or all-go-away-tournament) was still used to calculate final ranking points. This approach helped increase resources and improve the Vietnamese Futsal team in regional and world arenas. Previously, teams often competed in concentrated competitions, divided into two legs with fewer matches.

Accordingly, the 2023 HDBank Futsal National Championship was held in four major cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Da Nang. The tournament created more entertainment activities for tourists when they visited these cities. This was also considered necessary to promote Vietnamese futsal sports and boost local sports movements.

By sponsoring the Futsal tournament, HDBank aimed to provide an attractive playground for Futsal clubs and diversify local sports activities in Vietnam. With a decade of sponsoring the International Chess Tournament, HDBank helped showcase the image of a friendly, dynamic and sporty Vietnam to the world and bring the world closer to Vietnam. This was also part of the sustainable development philosophy that the bank has been adhering to for many years.

HDBank has pursued this goal by promoting Vietnamese chess on the world stage through its sponsorship of the HDBank International Chess Tournament since 2011. The lender has also been the sponsor of the futsal competitions for seven years, drawing fans to pack the stands every season.

As part of its efforts to increase the attractiveness of the 2023 HDBank Futsal National Championship, HDBank offered various entertainment programs and special gifts for fans and players throughout the tournament, such as credit cards with benefits, and photo competitions for journalists.
