Metro Cash & Carry Plans Additional Three Wholesale Centers in Vietnam
Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam, an arm of the world’s fifth largest trading company Metro Cash & Carry, will open an additional three wholesale centers in Vietnam in the coming time, said James Scott, general director of Cash and Carry Vietnam.
Accordingly, Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam will inaugurate its sixth wholesale center in central Danang City on December 15 this year and put into operation its seventh and eighth centers in Hanoi’s Hoang Mai district and Ho Chi Minh City’s district 12, respectively, next year.
Annually, the Metro Group directly and indirectly buys Vietnam-made goods worth more than US$50 million to supply its network of outlets worldwide. The rate of Vietnamese goods sold at Metro’s centers accounts for up to 90 per cent.
According coordinator of Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam, Luu Thi Hong Ha, about 5 per cent of the total of Vietnam-made goods sold at Metro’s wholesale centers is labeled with Metro. This rate is around 20-40 per cent at Metro’s centers in Europe.
