Vietnam - Germany Boosting Science and Education Cooperation

Minister of Science and Arts of Hessen (FRG) Mr Udo Corts visited Hanoi on November 4-6. Accompanying the Minister were Prof. Volker Nienhaus, Rector of Marburg University, Prof. Dr. Wolf Rieck, Rector of Frankfurt University and Dr. Dieter Kreuriger, Executive Director of Economic Department.

Hessen lies in the heart of Germany and is well-known for the Frankfurt financial centre, headquarters of European banking centre and over 400 banks. It is also a major traffic axis with Frankfurt and bMain airports close by.

During his visit, Minister Corts met with Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Minh Hien, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Prof. Tran Quoc Thanh and Rector of Hanoi Institute of Technology to seek cooperation opportunities. On November 4, Minister Corts granted scholarships to Vietnamese students at Hanoi Temple of Literature.
