The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), in coordination with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), held a conference on November 21 to introduce its preferential loans to enterprises in Vietnam.

This is opportunity to local enterprises to seek and access medium- and long-term loans from the bank.

In recent years, NIB has given preferential loans worth US$260 million, mostly via BIDV, to help Vietnam develop its socio-economy.

Total capital managed by the two banks is at present estimated at US$160 million, which has been invested in key economic sectors.

Nordic Bank penetrated into Vietnam in 1996 and has focused on providing capital to the local electricity, coal industries, and lending to non-state enterprises.
