Rubber Exports to China Fetch US$340Mln to Last Year
Vietnam gained earnings of US$340 million from selling 250,000 tons of rubber to China via Mong cai border gate last year, up 80 per cent in value and 55 per cent in value against the previous year.
The rubber exports to China were reported to account for 43 per cent the country’s total rubber export during the time
At present, as many as 1,000-1,300 tons of natural rubbers are being exported to China per day via Mong Cai border gate, fetching a high price of US$1,700 per ton.
Vietnam, the fourth largest rubber exporter in the world after Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, gained total earnings of US$787 million from rubber exports last year, up 31.9 per cent on-year, according to statistics from the Vietnam General Rubber Corporation.
The country currently has more than 500,000 hectares under rubber cultivation, yielding 550,000 tons annually and up to 90 per cent of which is earmarked for exports.
