As part of President Luong Cuong’s official visit to Chile, a ceremony was held on November 11 in Santiago De Chile to sign a cultural cooperation agreement between Vietnam and Chile, witnessed by the President of Vietnam and Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font.

Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Van Hung, and Chile’s Minister of Culture, Arts, and Heritage, Carolina Arredondo Marzan, signed the Vietnam-Chile Cultural Cooperation Program for the 2024-2026 period. This agreement aims to concretize the 2006 Declaration of Intent on cultural cooperation between the two governments, laying the foundation to foster a deeper, more practical, and effective cultural partnership between the two nations.

Key areas of cooperation in the program include cultural exchanges, promotion of creative arts development through artist and expert exchanges, and sharing of expertise and information in cultural fields. The program also includes establishing networks within the cultural and creative industries of both countries and fostering arts education at various academic levels.

In recent years, Vietnam and Chile have carried out several cultural exchange activities. The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has supported the Chilean Embassy in organizing events such as the Chilean Ceramic Wall on Hanoi’s Ceramic Road along the Red River, the Chile Film Week “Democracy is Memory and Future,” and the Latin American Film Festival in Vietnam.

In the future, the two nations plan to further collaborate on cultural and artistic promotion, bringing the image of Vietnamese culture and people closer to the Chilean public, thereby strengthening the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Chile.
