EXPO 2025, the world exposition held from April 12 to October 13 in Osaka, Japan, features the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, attracting the participation of 158 countries and international organizations, and is expected to attract 28 million visitors over its six-month duration.
Present in the “Empowering Lives” Zone, Vietnam Pavilion stands out with the theme “An inclusive society where people are centered”. This is not only a timely message but also a declaration of Vietnam’s development identity, a society where no one is left behind, where culture, education, technology, environment and gender equality together create the foundation for harmonious development.
With a 300-square meter exhibition space at the intersection of the main traffic axes in the EXPO campus, Vietnam Pavilion will operate continuously for six months with various activities like art performances, cultural promotion, education, public interaction, trade and investment promotion, culinary showcases, and exhibitions of Vietnamese handicrafts. In particular, the pavilion is also extended via an online platform to reach a wider global audience.
On the first day of its official opening on April 13, Vietnam Pavilion welcomed ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn and ASEAN Pavillion Director Dara Lux. The ASEAN Secretary General presented Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Vietnam's Representative General at EXPO 2025, with the seal of the ASEAN Trail Challenge Program - an activity to connect and promote the Pavillion of 10 ASEAN member countries through "travel passports" as gifts for visitors - an expression of regional solidarity, spreading the ASEAN identity on a global stage like the EXPO 2025.
Within the EXPO 2025 opening framework, the Vietnamese representative also had working sessions with the pavilions of many countries that are important partners of Vietnam, including Japan, the U.S., South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
In the next six months, Vietnam Pavilion will not only be a destination for international visitors but also a “broadcasting station” to spread the image of a Vietnam that is transforming strongly, integrating but still preserving the core of traditional values.
A series of diverse and unique activities will take place here, showcasing Vietnam’s rich cultural identity and national image. One of the important events is the Vietnam National Day, which is solemnly held as a welcome and introduction of Vietnam to friends around the world. Vietnam will also actively coordinate with other countries and international organizations at EXPO 2025 to organize joint events and art performances, and cooperate with domestic agencies, localities and businesses to effectively launch trade and investment promotions. The exhibition space is also a place to introduce traditional cuisine and typical souvenir products of Vietnam.
EXPO is not only a place to introduce technologies and innovations but also a global forum where each country expresses its vision for the future. Vietnam's presence at EXPO 2025, with a humanistic approach that places people at the center, is a soft declaration on the country's development path: inclusive, sustainable, with cultural identity and an open vision to the world.
