Vietnam Italy Steel Joint Stock Company (VIS), founded in 2002, specializes in producing and trading construction steel. In 2017, VIS joined Japan’s leading steel group, Kyoei Steel. Position and quality affirmed

Reflecting on the nearly 25-year journey, Mr. Yasuhiro Yonemura, General Director of VIS, shared: From the very beginning, the company identified its target market segment as high-quality construction steel. Therefore, the company invested in a steel rolling plant with a capacity of 350,000 tons/year in Hung Yen, and another plant with a capacity of 500,000 tons/year in Hai Phong, equipped 100% with imported machinery and technology from Danieli Morgardshammar, a leading global steel technology provider from Italy. The plant is set to begin operations in May 2025, further contributing to the development of Vietnamese society by providing high-quality products.

In addition, the billet production line at the Hai Phong plant has a capacity of 552,000 tons/year, utilizing Consteel technology, the world’s most advanced electric arc furnace technology that feeds materials horizontally and continuously.

Especially, with the plant’s billet production input being recycled scrap steel, it helps protect the environment and conserves natural resources. Most importantly, VIS has built a strong reputation across the country through involvement in key projects such as Son La, Lai Chau, Nam Chien, Huoi Quang, Sesan 3 and 3A, and Sesan 4 hydropower plants; Nghi Son, Quang Trach, Thai Binh and Vung Ang thermal power plants; Samsung factory; Bim Son and Nghi Son cement plants; Dung Quat oil refinery industrial zone; and Hanoi-Hai Phong, Hanoi-Thai Nguyen, Hanoi-Lao Cai, Huu Nghi-Chi Lang and Trung Luong-Ho Chi Minh City expressways. VIS is also present in the Nhon-Hanoi Station, Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railways, Thanh Tri, Nhat Tan and Bai Chay bridges, the National Convention Center, Noi Bai International Airport Terminal, Sai Gon Pearl, Royal City and various new urban areas.

Kyoei Steel Group, a leading brand in Japan renowned for its quality, has successfully operated four plants in Japan. In addition, the Group also operates five plants in Vietnam and two plants in the United States and Canada.

Despite such challenges, VIS has remained resilient and stable, providing jobs for over 600 employees with an average monthly income of VND13 million per person.
