Vietnam is emerging as a golden destination for Philippine businesses. With a record 105 delegates representing more than 40 companies registered for the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2025, the largest number to date, the event highlights both the rising appeal of the Vietnamese market and the potential for broad cooperation between the two countries across sectors including agriculture, logistics, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, healthcare, and education.

As of August 19, 2025, 105 delegates representing more than 40 Philippine enterprises had registered to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo (September 4-6). This record surpasses last year’s delegation of 70 representatives from just over 20 companies.
“This is the first time such a large number of Philippine entrepreneurs have registered for an international sourcing event in Vietnam,” said Phung Van Thanh, Vietnam’s Trade Counselor in the Philippines. “It confirms that Vietnam is becoming a prime destination for Philippine businesses seeking supply sources, investment opportunities, and market expansion.”
This year’s Philippine delegation includes major corporations and business associations such as EDL Group, Airspeed Group of Companies, SPD Group, Lloyd Laboratories, MH Food Group, Prestige Paper Products, Executive Genesis Services, Helix Software Technologies, AM-Europharma Corporation, DM Global, Romac Services and Trading, KPP Powers Commodities, AgriPanalo, along with members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Philippine Exporters Confederation (Philexport).
Beyond attending the trade fair, companies will also meet regulators, join investment promotion conferences, take part in B2B sessions, and visit factories and production sites across Vietnam. The variety of sectors including logistics, pharmaceuticals, processed foods, education, healthcare, e-commerce, and consumer goods distribution shows that Philippine businesses now regard Vietnam as a full supply and service hub, no longer limited to agricultural products.
This shift is significant given the Philippines’ domestic production still struggles to meet rising consumer demand. Positioned as a manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia, Vietnam offers Philippine businesses a reliable source of supply with competitive quality and pricing.
The expo thus represents more than a trade promotion event; it marks a turning point toward long-term cooperation, reflecting a shift from simple import–export relations to building shared supply chains and leveraging complementarities to expand into ASEAN and beyond. With close coordination, Vietnam and the Philippines are well placed to achieve US$10 billion in two-way trade by 2025 while shaping a more sustainable economic partnership for the decade ahead.
