Our reporter interviewed Mr. Bae Seung Jun, General Director of Shinhan Life Vietnam, about how the spirit of innovation, compassion, and sustainability is reflected in every aspect of the company’s operations.

With the vision “Enhance Quality of Life through Innovation”, could you share the company’s sustainable development strategy – the connection between insurance business and social value to realize this vision?
“Life” here is about both enhancing customers’ quality of life and improving the quality of Shinhan Life Vietnam’s products and services. Business development and contributing practical social value are two directions that always go hand-in-hand in the company's development strategy.
As of July 2025, we have launched the universal life insurance product Shinhan – An Thinh along with a set of four insurance riders featuring comprehensive protection benefits and reasonable costs, helping customers significantly expand their protection benefits and actively establish multiple “financial shields” for themselves and their families. Thanks to continuous efforts to enhance product quality and customer experience, the company was honored to receive the title “Best Financial Protection Insurance Award” at the Vietnam Wealth Advisor Summit 2025.
The core value of life insurance is the proactive preparation for the future, mitigating the impact of unexpected risks that may occur. In over 4 years of entering the Vietnamese market, besides business operations, Shinhan Life Vietnam has always accompanied the younger generation on the journey of investing in education, contributing to a brighter future for them through practical charity programs and community initiatives.

Shinhan Life Vietnam has implemented the S-Career vocational guidance program to help high school students determine suitable career paths, and various initiatives supporting disadvantaged children at SOS Children's Villages and pediatric cancer patients facing difficulties. Could you share the vision and results of these programs in developing young human resources and improving the quality of life in Vietnam?
Shinhan Life Vietnam continues to believe in the sustainable and long-term benefits of investing in the younger generation. The company always prioritizes initiatives that help young people, especially disadvantaged children, increase their opportunities to access quality learning tools, facilities, and knowledge platforms. These practical contributions were recognized by the community, earning the title “Corporate for the Community” at the Saigon Times CSR Merit Ceremony for 2 consecutive years in 2024 and 2025.
Specifically, the series of activities at SOS Children's Villages Vietnam provides material support (such as renovating playgrounds, donating laptops for studying) and spiritual support through the iLead education program series, helping children discover their personal values and awaken their self-leadership abilities. The S-Career vocational guidance program for high school students, implemented since 2024, has also received positive feedback for its practicality. Over the two years of 2024 - 2025, the program has been implemented at 8 high schools in the Mekong Delta provinces, attracting over 3,500 students and 350 teachers to participate.
In August 2025, we launched the first phase of the Shinhan Life S-Cellence scholarship program for final-year university students. In addition to the scholarship worth VND10,000,000/student, they also have the opportunity for a one-month internship to gain practical experience and learn working skills at Shinhan Life Vietnam.
The company also provided timely hospital fee support to 60 disadvantaged children at Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital, with a total support value of VND750 million, along with thousands of charity meals over the pass 4 years. We hope this contribution will provide strength, helping the children return to a normal life soon and continue pursuing their future dreams.
