In 2025, Vietnam’s export sector witnessed robust growth, creating a strong momentum for a target of over 8% in 2026. As a long-term investor in Vietnam, SCG views this momentum as a foundation for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Self-reliance: Mastering long-term development capacity

Self-reliance is inextricably linked to the mastery of core competencies, enabling businesses to maintain stability and remain proactive amidst a volatile global business landscape. Guided by this principle, SCG has pursued a strategy of long-term investment in key production infrastructure to ensure operational continuity and enhance its competitiveness within the supply chain.

A strategic milestone for SCG is the restart of the Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP) Complex, accompanied by a US$500 million investment to upgrade its ethane terminal and cracker plant. This move aims to secure a self-sufficient supply of raw materials, optimize costs, and reduce carbon emissions. Ultimately, it enhances LSP’s long-term competitiveness and domestic supply capacity while providing vital support to downstream manufacturing sectors.

Beyond production, SCG bolsters its internal strength by integrating ESG principles throughout every stage, from design to operation. This approach empowers SCG, along with its partners and suppliers, to incrementally improve adaptability and achieve collective growth.

Innovation: From technology to mindset

At SCG, innovation serves as the core growth engine to adapt to increasingly stringent ESG standards. The corporation continuously expands its green product portfolio, featuring innovations like SCG Low Carbon Cement, SCG Color Roof and SCG Smartboard Ultra, which meet rigorous international environmental standards. These achievements provide a solid foundation for SCG to export low-carbon cement to the U.S. market starting in 2026. Simultaneously, circular economy solutions in the packaging and plastics sectors are being accelerated through material-efficient designs and the production of high-quality recycled packaging.

At Duy Tan Plastics Manufacturing Corporation, a member of SCG Packaging, ESG is integrated into the operational system and managed through data-driven insights. The application of AI and real-time data monitoring allows the enterprise to reduce emissions, optimize energy consumption, and enhance the stability of its production chain.

Integration: Partnering for progress

Today, integration transcends mere market expansion; it is about the ability to participate deeply in global value chains. In addition to continuous product innovation, SCG proactively engages in domestic and regional economic, environmental, and sustainability forums. Through these platforms, SCG shares practical expertise, engages in policy dialogues, and fosters multi-stakeholder connections. These efforts aim to spread sustainable practices and promote a proactive, responsible integration of businesses into the global economy.

Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra, Country Director of SCG Vietnam, shared: “SCG’s strategy is closely aligned with Vietnam’s national development agenda. We believe sustainable growth must be both green and inclusive - creating shared value for industry, communities, and the wider economy as we grow alongside the country”

True integration is inseparable from investing in people and social responsibility. Through the "SCG Sharing the Dream" scholarship and the "Learn to Earn" vocational training project, SCG consistently empowers Vietnamese youth, including marginalized laborers, to strive for a brighter future.

Resilience provides the foundation, innovation provides the momentum, and integration opens the door to long-term development. Under the vision of Inclusive Green Growth, SCG remains committed to walking alongside Vietnam on its journey toward sustainable development and deep global integration.
