HOSE released the constituent stocks for the 2026 Vietnam Sustainability Index on July 20, with Vietcombank retaining its position among the top 20. The bank's continued inclusion in the index for multiple years reflects its long-term commitment to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its business strategy and operations.
In line with the Government's and the State Bank of Vietnam's policy direction, Vietcombank has continued to optimize its credit portfolio by prioritizing lending to production and business activities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), and other priority sectors, while maintaining prudent controls over lending to higher-risk segments.
In March 2026, Vietcombank became one of the first banks in Vietnam to adopt the Basel III Standardized Approach for risk management, aligning its governance framework more closely with international banking standards.
The bank has also continued to play a key role in providing capital for the economy, particularly to priority sectors, manufacturing, trade, export-import activities, and major infrastructure projects, supporting the country's sustainable economic growth.
As part of its sustainable finance strategy, Vietcombank successfully issued VND4 trillion (US$153 million) in green and sustainability bonds during 2024 and 2025, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Vietnam's transition to greener and more sustainable growth.
In 2026, the bank expanded its efforts to integrate finance with sustainable development through the launch of the Vietcombank Visa Hanoi Metro–MeGO co-branded card, aimed at promoting cashless payments on the capital city's urban transport system.
Vietcombank also became the first bank in Vietnam to offer cross-border QR code payments via its VCB Digibank platform in more than 60 countries and territories through a partnership with Alipay+. The service is expected to enhance customers' digital payment experience while supporting tourism, trade, and cross-border commerce.
During the first half of 2026, the bank introduced several preferential lending programs offering interest rates up to two percentage points below the market average to support businesses and individuals.
As part of its digital transformation efforts, Vietcombank continued expanding its integration with the National Public Service Portal while providing digital payment solutions for government agencies, public service units, and hundreds of hospitals. At the same time, it further developed its digital ecosystem to serve retail customers, businesses, and household enterprises.
The bank said these initiatives are part of its broader strategy to combine sustainable business growth with responsible corporate governance and long-term value creation.
