With a VND281 billion investment in a passenger car radial (PCR) tire production line and a digital transformation strategy for 2026-2030, The Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company (Casumina) is undergoing major restructuring to boost production capacity, expand exports, and elevate its position in the global rubber value chain.

Investing in Production Capacity for the Next Stage
The leader of Casumina, said that in recent years, the domestic and global economies have faced many challenges, including inflation, fluctuations in raw material prices, supply chain disruptions and declining demand in some major markets. In response, Casumina has conducted systematic market research and developed growth scenarios for each phase, shaping a flexible development strategy while maintaining its long-term goals.
For Casumina, the answer lies in two parallel directions: modernizing production capacity and accelerating digital transformation. This is not simply about investing in additional machinery or moving some processes to digital platforms. Casumina is moving toward a leaner operating model with better control over quality, costs, data and product traceability, thereby creating a foundation for its international market expansion strategy.
One key focus of Casumina's strategy is the relocation, restructuring and upgrading of the Dong Nai Rubber Factory. The company has signed a VND281 billion contract covering the construction, procurement, installation, testing and acceptance of PCR tire production equipment, with a construction period of 300 days and nights. The investment goes beyond expanding capacity, allowing Casumina to restructure its production line for greater efficiency and optimization. The focus is on increasing PCR tire production capacity, a product line that requires advanced technology, high quality and strong traceability.
This direction is also directly linked to Casumina's ambition to expand export markets. The company is focusing on markets with high technical requirements, including the United States, where product quality and origin standards are becoming increasingly important in the supply chain. Exports to the United States have increased by about 300,000 tire and tube products of various types, bringing total annual exports to approximately 1.8-2.1 million products.

Digital Transformation Goes Beyond the Back Office
If investment in production technology is the “hard” component of the restructuring strategy, digital transformation is the “soft” component helping Casumina change how it manages and operates. During 2026-2030, the company is implementing a digital transformation plan aligned with the orientations of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem). In the first six months of 2026, several digitalization projects were implemented across production, sales, warehousing and logistics, accounting and corporate management. Notably, the management and sales system synchronized data for 1,063 products and 37,775 customers. Meanwhile, the “Paperless Enterprise” platform officially went into operation on March 1, 2026, across all member units, helping reduce administrative costs and shorten processing times.
From a financial and production management perspective, the ERP system has been upgraded with accounting and tax modules, as well as automated alerts for raw material consumption norms. This is intended to improve control over input costs while strengthening transparency in financial management.
Another notable development is the digitalization of warehousing and logistics operations. Managing warehousing and logistics on a digital platform is expected to shorten delivery times and improve inventory management accuracy. As a result, Casumina's digital transformation is being implemented across multiple links of the value chain rather than focusing only on a few individual management tools.

Export and Financial Performance, Advancing Smart Connectivity
The initial results of digital transformation and improved operational capacity are reflected in production and exports. In the first six months of 2026, export production reached VND1.5 trillion, while tax refunds totaled VND313 billion. Casumina's progress was also recognized when it received the “Outstanding Digital Transformation Enterprise” award at the Vietnam Digital Awards in October 2025. As data from production, sales, warehousing and logistics, accounting and tax become connected, the company has better tools to control costs and make faster decisions.
In the final months of 2026, Casumina plans to continue implementing a series of strategic digitalization projects. These include applying AI SmartBI for forecasting, building a smart factory using RFID and robots at the Radial Tire Factory, deploying the E-LIMS laboratory management system with AI OCR, and implementing the CMMS maintenance management system. The company aims to reach 700,000 transactions per month on its digital platform.
If implemented in an integrated manner, these initiatives will mark a shift from process digitalization to a smart manufacturing model. Data will no longer be used only to record completed activities but will also support forecasting, maintenance, quality management and operational optimization. For 2030-2045, the company aims for the digital economy to account for more than 50% of revenue, with the goal of becoming an innovation leader in Vietnam's rubber processing industry.

As international competition increasingly depends on technology, data and the ability to meet standards, this direction could provide Casumina with a new foundation for its next stage of development. If the investment and digitalization projects are implemented on schedule, the “dual boost” from production technology and digital transformation will not only strengthen Casumina's position in the domestic market but also expand its ability to participate more deeply in the global rubber industry value chain. Investment in technology, expanded export markets and increased production capacity will provide a solid foundation for growth in the coming years. At the same time, the shift toward green consumption and sustainable development requirements will create opportunities for companies such as Casumina with clear strategies and strong commitments.
With a systematic development approach, proactive strategy and continuous commitment to innovation, Casumina is gradually strengthening its position in the tire and tube industry while enhancing the image of Vietnamese brands in international markets. In the years ahead, these strategic steps will provide an important foundation for Casumina to sustain growth and contribute to the development of the rubber industry and Vietnam's economy.
