Intelligent power management company Eaton partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Vietnam to help build disaster-resilient homes for families in Que Son and Que Son Trung communes near Da Nang as part of the Vietnam Special Build 2026 campaign, themed “Home Matters.” This marks the first Special Build in the Asia-Pacific region since 2019.
With offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Eaton supports customers across the country while contributing to the communities where it operates. The project marks the first Habitat for Humanity volunteer home-building initiative involving Eaton employees in Vietnam, extending Eaton’s long-standing global partnership with Habitat for Humanity to local communities. Funded through Eaton’s Corporate Donation Program, the initiative aims to improve housing safety and climate resilience for vulnerable families in Central Vietnam.

Building safer homes for vulnerable families
Located in a region frequently affected by storms and flooding, Que Son and Que Son Trung communes continue to face housing challenges, with many families living in unsafe or temporary shelters. The area holds strategic and cultural importance, situated near four major cultural and tourism centers—Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, and My Son—three of which (Hue, Hoi An, and My Son sanctuary) are UNESCO-recognized Cultural Heritage sites. Despite this rice heritage and scenic value, the local population remains highly vulnerable to recurrent and intensifying climate hazards, including seasonal flooding, destructive typhoons, and escalating heat extremes that compromise housing integrity and community resilience.
The Special Build brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope, creating a meaningful opportunity for diverse stakeholders to join hands in addressing the urgent need for safe, affordable housing of vulnerable families.
