Germany-Vietnam Business Matchmaking, part of a large programme by the German ministries of economy and technology, has brought in business cooperation opportunities for enterprises of both countries. Germany-Vietnam Business Matchmaking was held by the Hanoi Business Association, the Vietnam Business Forum Newspaper and EVIBUS.

In the experience of the Hanoi Business Association (HBA) in organising business matchmaking programmes, many Vietnamese enterprises have received support from enterprises and associations abroad via similar matchmaking activities. For example, the establishment of the Nissan Auto showroom by Van Tan Trade and Service Co. Ltd was the result of a business matchmaking programme with a Danish company. Van Tan received a lot of support to become the sole distribution agent of Nissan Motor Co. in Vietnam.

According to Ms Do Thi Anh Tu, secretary general of HBA, the Germany-Vietnam Business Matchmaking programme has attracted the attention of 100 German companies specializing in energy, construction, training, trade and environment. One of the most attractive fields for German firms is machinery and industrial equipment industries. Many small and medium enterprises from Germany have arrived in Vietnam to survey the automobile market in Vietnam. Mr. Klaus Kopschek, manager of a trade brokerage firm, said that he had met several Vietnamese enterprises to discuss the possibilities of future cooperation. Mr. Do Chu Dat, director of D&G VIETNAM Co., Ltd also expressed his company’s wishes for seeking a partner in Europe for the exportation of wood materials. In addition, trade and construction fields are of interest to many enterprises. Mr. Stephan Behuise of Scholossen Company, which specialises in manufacturing construction machines, commented that Vietnam is a potential market for Germany in Asia.

Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, deputy editor-in-chief of the Business Forum Weekly, the organiser of this event, said the exchanges between Vietnamese and German enterprises in energy, recycling, automatic machinery, construction technique, environment, waste water, machinery production, consumption goods trading and training are suitable for Vietnamese partners. The meeting will open numerous cooperative opportunities for enterprises of the two countries and a further step for cooperation and competition between the two countries’ firms.
