French Senate Sponsors Amphitheatre Upgrade at Vietnam National University

The French Senate has recently sponsored 70,000 euros for the improvement of the main lecture hall in the Historic Building of Vietnam National University at 19 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Previously, the building, which was the headquarters of the former Indochina University, was designed by Architect Bérard, featuring with a French-Indochina architecture style combination.

 

This amphitheatre was inaugurated on the centennial foundation ceremony of the University, on May 15, 2006.

On this occasion, the Hanoi National University hung the “Advancement” picture by artist Victor Tardieu, which was on the wall since the establishment of the school. This picture was seriously downgraded because of Vietnamese climate and was fully restored by initiatives of the Hanoi National University.
