Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Milcon Gulf Group to study to form a major Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility in Vietnam.
Milcon Gulf Group will partner with VNA to establish a new MRO company which will provide MRO services to VNA and other air carriers worldwide.
Once completed, the facility will provide a full range of engineering and maintenance services including overhaul, repair of aircraft components for both Boeing and Airbus fleets with a particular emphasis on Airbus A320, A321 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The new company, which will have significant maintenance facilities both in Hanoi, in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, will provide maintenance services within Vietnam, Asia, Middle East and eventually to Europe and Americas.
During the signing of the MoU attended by representatives of both companies, Mr. Pham Van Nuoi the Vice President of Engineering of VNA said “VNA is very excited about this new joint venture and the prospect of establishing a major maintenance and repair facility here in Vietnam”.
Mr. Shameem Qurashi, Chairman of Milcon Gulf Group also said “Milcon Gulf Group has a long history of involvement in Vietnam and we are very excited about working with our partners on this project. With its young, highly qualified and trainable workforce, Vietnam is very well positioned to become a key player in the growing worldwide MRO marketplace”
