Honda Vietnam (HVN), the largest motorbike maker in Vietnam, is holding training courses for workers of its dealers as a preparation for the launch of its first car model branded Civic in late August.

The training on product, maintenance and repair techniques and safe driving methods started from June 1.

In addition to agents in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, HVN will set up new dealers in central and southeastern regions of Vietnam.

In 2005, HVN sold over 620,000 motorcycles in the country, up 20 per cent against 2004, totaling 2.5 million units since it opened operations here since 1996, according to Honda Vietnam.

This year, HVN targets to sell 770,000 motorbikes in Vietnam, the company said.

Recently, Honda received a license for manufacturing cars in the country.
