Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company has won a US$30 million deal to export energy-saving compact lamps to Latin American markets in the coming time, state media reported.

The contract will help the company with an annual output of 10-12 million fluorescent lamps and more than 10 million incandescent lights to reach the export revenue of US$32 million this year, a company official said.

However, the company officials are not available for comment on the detailed markets and shipment plans.

The products made by the company now dominate over 60 per cent of the domestic market, the official said, adding that the firm’s major export markets are Myanmar, Egypt, South Korea, and Southern Asia and now the Latin America.

So far this year, the Dien Quang has pumped VND30 billion (US$1.87 million) in six compact lamp manufacturing lines to increase the total output to 30 million compact lamps per year.

Along with other fluorescent lights producers in Vietnam such as Rang Dong Light Sources & Vacuum Flash Joint Stock Company, the domestic lights makers signed five contracts to export 61 million compact lights to Cuba in the five-year period beginning 2006.

Vietnamese fluorescent lights with consumption capacity ranging 18-40 watts with codes of HS 8539.3110 and 8539.9000 consumed in Egypt are now subjected to the anti-dumping taxes.
