Vietnam Prepares for MTM APEC 2006
The Management Committee for Ministerial Tourism Meeting (MTM) APEC 2006 has hold the meeting titled “Service Preparation for MTM APEC 2006” to discuss important moves for the successful MTM meeting scheduled to take place in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam in October, local media reported.
MTM APEC 2006 will last from October 16-19 in the UNESCO-recognized town of Hoi An and about 400 representatives, including ministers, tourism officials from 21 members of APEC, secretary board, observing organizations will attend the gathering.
On this occasion, the meeting will likely announce a Joint Declaration on Tourism called “Hoi An Declaration on Tourism”.
Quang Nam, which has two internationally recognized heritage sites including Hoi An and My Son, has finished infrastructure and technology preparation for the event, news sources reported.
Earlier, the 29th Tourism APEC Working Party will be under way from October 12-14 to complete the remaining problems before the MTM APEC 2006.
