Alumni Links Vietnamese Graduates from Australia

About 12.000 Vietnamese students have studied in Australian institutions, including around 3000 who at present completing their studies. Around one fourth of the students at present in Australia are scholarship students from at number of programs, including AusAID’s Australian Development Scholarship, the University of Queensland’s scholarship, and the Vietnamese government’s scholarship programs.
Popular programs for Vietnamese students include business, accounting, management, engineering, IT, computer engineering and science, education, agriculture, and social sciences.

Vietnamese alumni of Australian institutions are working in many fields in Vietnam. They now include some senior government officials and business executives. The Vietnamese Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC) is the association of the Alumni. VGAC has about 2000 members in five chapters Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang and Can Tho, VGAC’s mission is to help members network and strengthen the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Australia. Annually, VGAC organises a number of activities with strong support from AEI Vietnam, Australian education and training institutions, VAFA, and various sponsors. VGAC is a symbol of the friendship between Australia and Vietnam and it provides an important people to people link between our two countries. In addition to providing a venue for alumni to meet and network, VGAC has shown its high level of social responsibility by initiating a number of charity programs
