The Macau-Hong Kong-Haiphong air route will be officially launched on September 4, opening more opportunities to develop tourism in Haiphong, the only city allowed to open casinos in Vietnam, state media reports.

Accordingly, there will be two flights a week with return ticket price of $400 per passenger.

Recently, the route from the city’s Cat Bi Airport to Macau has also been launched with two weekly flights. The service is part of a program to promote tourism in Haiphong.

The Cat Bi Airport, some 5km from downtown Haiphong, has recently been upgraded.

Haiphong’s local airport currently offers daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Danang and is recognized as a standby international airport for Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport.
