PetroVietnam Financial Company (PVFC) and the US’s Vietnam Partners LLC have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement that will link their operations for mutual benefits, local media reported.

Under the deal, the two sides will boost ties on financial and investment consultation, project appraisal as well as join hands in investment, issuance, guarantee and bond issue.

PVFC, a subsidiary of the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam), is a non-banking credit institution. After five years of operations, the firm has confirmed its foothold in both domestic and international financial arenas.

Vietnam Partners LLC, meanwhile, is a prestigious investment company in terms of securities investment, financial consultation, and trade promotion. It is the first US firm to invest in Vietnam’s financial market.

Before PVFC, Vietnam Partners LCC has partnered with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to set up a 50:50 fund management joint venture firm with paid-in capital of US$2 million.
