Binh Dinh Production, Investment, Service and Import-Export Co. (Pisico) is carrying out a project to build a synthetic wood processing factory, with initial investment of VND200 billion (US$12.6 billion).

The factory, located on 50 hectares in Tuy Phuoc district’s Phuoc Thanh commune, is designed to have total capacity of 35,000cu.m of refined wood per year.

The factory’s products will comprise 48 per cent of furniture, 20 per cent of civil and high-class decoration furniture and 32 per cent of outdoor furniture.

In order to ensure sufficient timber for processing, Pisico is implementing a project worth $20 million to grow nearly 10,000ha of rubber and timber for 50 years in neighboring Laos.

In related news, Pisico, among 58 furniture manufacturers in central Binh Dinh province, is now running four outdoor furniture factories. Most of the company’s timber materials for processing are harvested from southern Binh Duong province.
