HSBC Honored as Best Foreign Bank in Vietnam

FinanceAsia, Asia’s leading finance publishing group, has selected Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp (HSBC) Vietnam as the best foreign bank in Vietnam this year.
 
Starting operations in Vietnam in 1870, HSBC is the country’s biggest foreign bank regarding investment capital, transaction networks, the number of staff and clients.
 
With Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City branches and a representative office in Can Tho city, HSBC with 250 employees are serving diversified clients of companies, financial institutions, domestic and foreign investment funds and individuals.
 
Currently, HSBC’s clients can use 800 transaction offices nationwide under cooperation deals between the bank and domestic banks and 65 branches of the Technological and Commercial Bank of Vietnam (Techcombank), a strategic partner of HSBC.
 
HSBC is the only foreign bank in Vietnam to fully provide financial services including corporate financial services, banking services to financial institutions, international payment, money payment and management, securities custody and fund management, foreign exchange and capital market, debt arrangement, project financing and personal financial services.

Reportedly, in January this year, the bank was also recognized as the Best Sub-custodian Bank in Vietnam by the Asset Triple A Transactions Banking Awards 2006.
 
In addition, AsianBanker also ranked HSBC Vietnam the second among the best retail banks 2006 in Vietnam.
