Two Economic Hubs Make up A Third of Vietnam's Total Retail Sales
Total retail sales of goods and services in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at VND118.3 trillion ($7.4 billion) in the first eight months of this year, accounting for 32.5 per cent of the country's total retail revenues.
The figures indicate that the Vietnam’s two economic hubs have become promising land for retailers.
According to statistics from the General Statistics Office, Vietnam registered a total retail value of VND364 trillion ($22.9 billion) in the eight-month period, a year-on-year increase of 20.2 per cent.
The trade sector alone recorded a value of VND296.6 trillion ($18.7 billion), an increase of 19.5 per cent on year.
