Vietnam: Special Guest of the Accenta Fair in Ghent, Belgium

The 61st Accenta Fair will take place in Ghent, Belgium, from September 9-17, 2006. This international event is held annually, and Vietnam has been invited to attend this year’s fair.
 
The Accenta Fair is significant politically, economically and culturally. One country is invited to the fair each year. China was invited in 2005, Vietnam this year. The 2006 fair will host the King, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Belgium Parliament, plus many foreign ambassadors to Belgium and the European Union.
 
It is expected that about 400 large companies from Belgium and other countries will take part in the fair and several hundred thousand people will visit, including high-ranking royal, federal and provincial leaders of Belgium, foreign officials, and representatives of companies and universities, and even street people. International troupes will perform at the fair giving spectators a glimpse of their culture.
 
At the fair will be companies displaying a wide range of products such as food, jewelry, handmade articles, footwear, clothing, interior furniture, electric appliances and cultural and educational products. There will also be workshops and trade promotion activities, and cultural, scientific and technical agreements will be signed between companies and government agencies.
 
Being the special guest at this 2006 Accenta Fair gives Vietnam an opportunity to present an image and Vietnam’s economic, cultural and social achievements. At the same time, Vietnamese companies will have a chance to promote their products, take part in trade workshops, learn from fellow participants, and sign business contracts.
