Vietnam Ready for APEC 2006

Vietnam is now ready for the APEC 2006, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, chairman of the National Committee for APEC, told State President Nguyen Minh Triet on his working visit to the National Convention Centre (NCC) on October 26, 2006.

 

"Until this point of time, we can say that the preparations have been made carefully from content step to reception, logistics, communication and security. Many rehearsals have been conducted to find out the irrational points to resolve in time,” Khiem said.

 

The full-dress rehearsal was attended by State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Vice President Truong My Hoa, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, Special Envoys of the Prime Minister, Head of APEC Secretariat and officials of the sub-committees.

 

At the rehearsal, President Nguyen Minh Triet also carefully checked meeting halls and technical equipment of the National Convention Centre.
