"No reason makes me unhappy to invest into Vietnam", Scott Price, CEO, DHL Express Asia Pacific, told The Associated Press Friday

Under the newly formed DHL-VNPT joint venture, DHL Express will be investing US$ 14 million into Vietnam. Which is earmarked for new facilities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hai Phong and Danang, as well as fleet upgrades, direct service expansion to key industrial zones, and new vehicles.

The $14 million is the beginning what I see to be a long-term investment in Vietnam, similar to the investments we've made in other developing economies like China.

DHL has invested more than $1.7 billion in the Asia-Pacific region. It plans to expand its facility in South Korea, and inaugurate a new Bangkok hub within a week.

Our commitment in Vietnam and in Asia Pacific investment has announced that it too will be increasing and strengthening its ties with Vietnam by continuing initiatives with their appointed agent, Macs Shipping, on staff training, technological upgrade, and developing customs clearances… In addition, the logistics entity will built Vietnam as a mid-point to transit shipments from other religion into its cross border transportation between Vietnam and Laos, Cambodia, South China.

We have been very active in working with Vietnamese government toward customs reform and hosted various summits in key sectors including textiles and apparel, footwear and furniture, as well as the emerging finance and technologies export sectors.
