Plastics Industry Eyes US$1Bln Export Turnover in 2010

The plastics sector in Vietnam has targeted export earnings of US$1 billion in 2010 with exported staples of packing and hi-quality products, said the Vietnam Plastics Association.

 

This year, the industry is expected obtain US$500 million from outbound shipments, a rise of over 42 per cent against last year. To reach the target, the association has urged Vietnamese plastics companies to pay more attention to potential markets such as Africa, China, Russia, the Middle East and Latin America besides key markets in the EU, the US and Japan. 

 

The association also asked local enterprises to attach special importance to promoting product trademarks and actively approach foreign markets through taking part in exhibitions and fairs.
