Swedish Embassy Hands over Books to National Library
Within the framework of a very effective cultural exchange and cooperation between Sweden and Vietnam, the Embassy of Sweden on September 8 handed over the newly - translated literature books to the National Library in Hanoi.
This is the third time Sweden supported such kind of activity. It is one of the important areas of the cooperation which aims at building professional links between Swedish and Vietnamese cultural and arts institutions.
Swedish literature books include two novels: “April Witch” by Majgull Axelsson and “A Winter in Stockholm” by Agneta Pleijel; and two children books: “Mr Pettson Goes Camping” and “Birthday Cake” by Sven Nordqvist. Vietnamese literature books translated into Swedish include two collections of short stories by Phan Thi Vang Anh, “When You Are Young” and by Doan Le “Double Bed in Chua Village” ; as well as a children book of To Hoai “Diary of a Cricket”.
In addition to the National Library, some 6,500 copies of the above-mentioned Swedish literature books will be sent to libraries in at the provincial and district levels to make them accessible to readers nationwide.
