Vietnamese government will create favorable conditions for Japanese firms to invest in Vietnam, especially in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, in the field of information and hi-technology, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at his talks with visiting Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Yoshihide Suga.

Working with the Japanese minister and entourage in Hanoi on January 8, Dung expressed his belief that the visit would promote cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in information and technology.

He also noted good results in Vietnam-Japan relations over the past years and appreciated Japan’s aid, including its projects on community internet development and the North-South optical cable system valued at $160 million.

Yoshihide Suga assessed that Vietnam is rapidly developing in all fields, especially in IT. Vietnam is the first country Yoshihide Suga has visited since he took the office as a minister of internal affairs and communications of Japan.

The Japanese minister also informed Dung of the result from his earlier talks with Vietnamese Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, which wrapped up deals on mobile information technology and broadband internet services.

Vietnam and Japan have established strategic partnership and long-lasting cooperation for the interests of the two peoples and of the region. Japan is a big investor and trade partner and the biggest ODA provider of Vietnam.
