US Embassy Celebrates Vietnam's Accession into WTO

Senior officials of Vietnamese government and prominent business leaders were welcomed to a reception at the American Ambassador’s residence on January 18 to celebrate Vietnam’s entry into the WTO.

US officials noted that January 11, 2007 was an historic day for Vietnam and the rules-based global trading system, marking the beginning of a new era in the political and economic relationship between US and Vietnam.

 

On behalf of the Vietnamese side, Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen thanked US leaders for their cooperation in granting Permanent Normal Trade Relations status to Vietnam.

 

Tuyen also noted the years of work and bilateral cooperation that had gone into achieving this important milestone.
