Vietnam to Promote Business at Singapore Stock Market
Vietnam’s Finance Ministry will begin a project to promote Vietnamese businesses at the Singapore bourse this year. According to the ministry, the program is part of the appendix of the framework agreement linking the economies of Vietnam and Singapore.
The project will be jointly carried out by the Finance Ministry and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
The program will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, two workshops will be held to introduce and exchange information about listing procedures and conditions for listing at international stock exchanges. Moreover, the program will serve as an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to access Singaporean strategic investors, and step by step expand business relations as well as production and business activities.
The workshops are expected to take place on April 2-3 at Melia Hotel in Hanoi, and April 5-6 at New World Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Participants will include leaders from Vietnamese enterprises wanting to learn about listing conditions and other requirements set by international stock markets.
In the second phase, Vietnamese enterprises that participated in the first phase will have opportunities to contact and meet Singaporean strategic investors and directly access Singaporean stock market listings.
In related news, two listed firms, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) and Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT) are planning to list shares on the Singaporean bourse. (Vietnam & World’s Economy, Vietnamnet)
