A group of 25 Danish maritime companies, the largest-ever of its kind, will arrive in Vietnam this weekend to seek business opportunities in Vietnam’s shipbuilding industry, local media said.

Danish firms will work with Vietnamese partners on developing the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry, shipyard exploitation technologies, as well as maritime secrets and services, it said.

The delegation, which will tour Vietnam from February 25 to March 2, will visit old and new shipyards in Vietnam and cooperate with Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) to open two symposiums in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, introducing new technologies and discussing possible future cooperation opportunities.

Danish companies will work with Vietnamese partners to set up Vietnam-Denmark Maritime Club, an information exchange channel for concerned firms in the two countries.

The club plans to issue four bulletins a year for its Vietnamese and Danish members.

The Danish side pledges to provide information about European and Danish shipbuilding news to Vietnamese partners in a swift manner. (Vietnam Economic Times)
