Hanoi to Host Regional Economic Summits
The third Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS - 3) and the fourth Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV- 4) Summits will open in the Hanoi National Convention Center at the end of October and early November this year.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will join his counterparts to co-chair the third ACMECS and the fourth CLMV Summits.
To prepare for the events, an organizing board headed by a deputy foreign minister will be set up soon.
The ACMECS includes Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The second ACMECS Summit was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 1-3, 2005. The third CLMV Summit took place in Cebu, the Philippines, on January 12, 2007. (People’s Army)
